Overview:

Continuing down the Honma T//WORLD XP-1 lineup, we land on their hybrid—a club that carries the same sleek design and thoughtful tech as its siblings. Tailored with the high-handicap player in mind, it’s a forgiving option that doesn’t skimp on style or performance.

The Tech:

The hybrid shares much of its DNA with the XP-1 3-wood. While the ET-40 carbon crown is absent here, you’ll still find the double-slot sole and a hefty 42 grams of weight along the base. That weight’s shifted just a touch toward the heel, giving it a subtle draw bias to help straighten out those shots. No adjustable hosel this time—Honma’s kept it simple and fuss-free.

It comes paired with a unique 43-gram Vizard shaft, offered in Regular, Stiff-Regular, and Stiff flexes—all sticking to that consistent 43-gram weight. Loft options include 19, 22, and 25 degrees, so you’ve got some flexibility to dial in your gapping.

The Look:

In terms of aesthetics, the hybrid fits right in with the driver and 3-wood. It sports a glossy black crown that catches the light, paired with a mirrored finish and black accents on the sole. There’s no alignment aid on top, but the white-painted grooves on the face step up to help you line things up.

The Test:

This review zeroes in on the 22-degree model with the 63-gram Regular shaft. Off the turf, it delivers that classic high-pitched hybrid sound—crisp and satisfying. The feedback through the face is excellent, letting you know exactly where you’ve made contact. Performance data comes via TopTracer, captured under less-than-ideal conditions (think a nagging left-side headwind). The numbers below give a reliable baseline, though they’re not gospel.

The Conclusion:

The Honma T//WORLD XP-1 hybrid brings a lot to the table for high-handicap players: a forgiving design, a touch of draw bias, and a premium look that holds its own in the bag. It’s straightforward yet effective—perfect for those who want performance without overcomplicating things. Whether it’s the crisp acoustics or the consistent feel, this club makes a strong case as a reliable go-to for tricky spots on the course.
